Tank to engine fuel lines

I'm looking to replace the fuel lines that run from tank to engine on my SC.

Has anybody purchased the parts locally?  From Pirtek or maybe genuine Porsche?

There is a guy on Pelican who fabricates stainless lines for air cooled cars and he gets very good reviews.

Just seeking opinions before I dig in.

Having just replaced mine, it isn't a fun job.

 

I think hard lines would have made it worse also. I used Teflon braid with AN fittings.

I have made them before but not on a Porsche. I bought aeroflow hard line which is very easy to form to shape.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Peter M - yes I am familiar with that thread, and it all sounds rather daunting.  Seems there are several methods to choose from.  The BoxsterGT guy is the one who sells the custom lines i'm thinking about.

I will likely save this job for when I have engine out.

I have got stuff off Boxster GT and he does quality work, highly recommended.

One thing which makes it hard for us in Australia to deal with him is that he doesn't deal with PayPal at all - ever. This means you have to work out another way to pay him ( & I dont think he can/will take a CCard either). I suggest you research ways to pay someone in USA before you contact him. I also think he maybe retiring soon. - but not really sure about this.
