Hey Guys

Im new here so first off I would like to say Hi

I have a Boxster which is in need of a Service plus just yesterday I was driving, heard a little bang or some sound from the front passenger side of the car, car got bogged down, revs went high and the Check Engine Light came on flashing. I pulled over, turned the car off for approx 10min, said some nice words to myself, turned car back on, check engine light was on but solid this time, started car and went home, seemed to be running ok but light still appears solid. I started car this morning, it started fine but a little fumey.

Now the big question would be any one know whats the problem?

The other big question is, anyone know anyone that deals with repairs and services for Boxster on the Gold Coast apart from Porsche Centre?

Hope someone can help me out

Ta

Yowch, In my opinion, I wouldn't be driving it or starting it for that matter.

Can't work out what would be in the front left that would cause that engine drama.

What model year etc are you driving? Tip or manual?

Hopefully someone with more mechanical knowledge than me can point you in the right direction but seriously I wouldn't be firing it up any more.

Sorry can't help you any more, good luck with it.

Thanks mate

1999 Trip Tronic

Spoke to Porsche Centre they said the sound from front was more likely a coincidence and they couldnt tell me the problem with the Check Engine Light till they did the tests.

Ahhh looks like $$$$$$$$$$$$$ nothing is cheap on these cars :(

And after looking there seems to be only one centre and thats Porsche themselves on the Gold Coast

Yes mate going to the Porsche Stealers is always gonna hurt. :( I would seriously considering flat topping it to the Stealers unless you can find a local who can run the "fault finder gizmo" on the computer, to see what it is,.

Keep us informed if you wouldn't mind as to what and how much etc.

Good luck with it.

I just googled 'porsche independant specialist Gold Coast' got nothing back. Only one I could find was http://www.tdautomotive.com.au/ but they are in Brisbane. You could always contact them and explain the issue, you never know.. maybe one of their mechanics lives out your way and might come take a look??? Don't ask, you don't get :)

Good luck

Amanda

EUROTEC on the coast do BMW, Mercedes & PORSCHE, not sure how BOXSTER literate they are, but a phone

call will sort that out-: 5535 3871.

NOTE-: I have NEVER had any work done here, nor have I any affiliation, just heard about them.

Hope it works out and not to many $$$$$$

cheers

John

Hey Guys

Finally got it sorted.

It was the Oxygen Sensor which is very rare said Porsche Centre Gold Coast. They didnt replace it as it has not done it again and touch wood it wont do it again!

Had Major Service done too

Just need to have some other things fixed that have be worn over the years

Glad to hear it was nothing too major and you're back up and running!

Also just want to clarify, when you said 'rare' do you mean that the part itself is rare or that the o2 sensor failing is a 'rare occurrence'?

Cheers,

Hugh
