CapnHyaku Posted 27October, 2020 Report Share Posted 27October, 2020 So my recently acquired purchase appears to have some kind of green coloured coolant in it. I suspect this is HOAT (not old old green) based on what is typically sold in AU. Should I get it flushed and replaced with red OAT coolant? Is HOAT that bad for it? Dreamr Posted 27October, 2020 Report Share Posted 27October, 2020 Can’t answer your question, but it’s never a bad thing to put the right one in and know that its been done and when. If no record of brake fluid flush, good idea to do that too just for peace of mind. Both flushes cheap and easy ... 😀

PDean Posted 3November, 2020 Report Share Posted 3November, 2020 I'd recommend flush and change coolant, also as mentioned brake fluid. Not sure what your cars records are like, so could be due anyway. See attached, this is also what Dave from Nurburgring Mechanical uses/used on my 997 CapnHyaku
CapnHyaku Posted 3November, 2020 Author Report Share Posted 3November, 2020 Yep it's all happening. 😄 1. The old yellow coolant tank was... surprise! Old yellow and cracked! So that explains the small leak and was on my to-do list anyway. When it goes... flush and OAT replace it is. 2. Brake hoses are getting old according to the guys as Autohaus so... replace and flush there too! PDean
