MavP Posted 16February, 2013 Report Share Posted 16February, 2013 Anyone have a solid recommendation for a specialist on the Gold Coast from whom to get a quality pre-purchase inspection/appraisal for a 90's 911? Thanks

MavP Posted 17February, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 17February, 2013 Thanks. Would the Porsche Centre be better than a smaller independent workshop? Just as a guide, what are most places charging for a PPI these days. Thanks
CarreraG50 Posted 17February, 2013 Report Share Posted 17February, 2013 Hi MavP,I posted this a while ago for a BOXER owner, my original comments stand,EUROTEC on the coast do BMW, Mercedes & PORSCHE, not sure how BOXSTER literate they are, but a phonecall will sort that out-: 5535 3871.NOTE-: I have NEVER had any work done here, nor have I any affiliation, just heard about them.Hope it works out and not to many $$$$$$cheersJohn
MavP Posted 18February, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 18February, 2013 Incidentally, Eurotec (according to them) don't really do PPI's on Porsches. T&D are meant to be good but In Brisbane, not GC. http://www.tdautomotive.com.au/contact
Russ Posted 19February, 2013 Report Share Posted 19February, 2013 T&D are great, and probably worth the trip if you're considering it. Theres nothing they don't know about Porsches they work on both my cars, and i know quite a few other people who say they're the only porsche people to go to (when i first got my car, i met a woman out the front of my place with a black targa who said exactly this too)
FlatSix Posted 19February, 2013 Report Share Posted 19February, 2013 After trying to find a good workshop on the coast for months with no luck I am up going up to T&D for my engine rebuild. I drove up and spoke to Steve a few months ago and he went over my car and had a good look around, put it up on the hoist etc and did not charge me (This was not a PPI, I had already bought the car and wanted an opinion on where to start the rebuild) Steve sounds like he knows his stuff. Maybe you could convince the owner to take it up to them? Throw in a case of beer/wine if you buy it.

FlatSix Posted 28July, 2013 Report Share Posted 28July, 2013 Do they know there way around an aircooled porsche Pabloau?
Pabloau Posted 28July, 2013 Report Share Posted 28July, 2013 Affirmative with a Capital A! Great workshop, awesome people and about 140yrsmof air cooled experience in the place (Glenn, Harry and others)....... My old girl is a US 911T with a 3.0 in it, previous owner thankfully sent it to Glenn to get it running on arrival in country, I took a punt to keep the service appointment (thank god I did!). He found things I had missed, so a major service turned into an "extended stay", and he is not the cheapest, but he is knowledgeable, a decent bloke & having scratched the itch fora second time is a pleasure to deal with......... No I'm not being paid to punt them in the boards, compared to past "experts", to be these guys are a revelation compared ........ They have my business! Previous ride was an 84 3.2, taken to RS spec engine, g/bow, suspension et al, so serious dollars spent, in hindsight with the wrong people
