Hi all,

Recently got my hands on a lovely example of a 996TT, but it seems to have started leaking hydraulic fluid from the rear wing assembly. It's nothing catastrophic at this stage; the left hand side doesn't go up quite as high as the right.

I've already reached out to DH Automotive out in Belgium who do rebuilds of the whole system, but was wondering if anyone was aware of anyone in Australia offering a similar service? I've been quoted 725 euros (including shipping both ways) as a starting point from DH.

Pic attached for attention!
Cheers!

Not in Australia  but jump on the rennlist forum.  Kevin at UMW in the US has a fix ( does  your car have a UWM tune? If so well played. )  and another vendor had a kit ( no need to ship yours).

I will reach out to UMW, thanks for the pointer. The car did have a UMW tune from the previous owner(s), it's an absolute weapon.

There’s a shop in Ringwood/ Melbourne that rebuilds them.

SV Electrics, Steve specialises in Porsche auto electrics and does the wing rebuilds.

Ofcourse there is an aftermarket electrical kit also.

Thanks for the pointer, I've reached out to Steve and will await his reply.

I did consider going the electric option, but it's very expensive and doesn't actually carry much of a warranty. Given the factory setup has lasted 20 odd years, I'm happy to just rebuild it (DH apparently uprate some parts/seals as well) and it should go strong for a long while yet.

Cheers

Reckon I've been for a spin around the block in that car with both previous owners.  Well purchased. Just a view but  compared to other examples with less km's and much more $ on asking,  they are like point and shooting a slug gun vs a high powered rifle bolt action shotgun.  Weapon indeed.
