npvpositive Posted 12April, 2013 Report Share Posted 12April, 2013 Hi guys, I'm transferring an early Porsche (1971 911S) off heritage plates and onto a regular rego. I need to get a blue slip safety inspection to do this but from what I can see on the RTA website all the popular Sydney Porsche mechanics (Cavaco, PR Tech, Autohaus,Euromotive, BW, Autowerks, etc) only do annual pink slips. I'm nervous about taking a car like this to a non-Porsche specialist. Does anyone know a mechanic in Sydney that does blue slips and won't destroy an early Porsche? Thanks!! The place my family and friends have used for many years do both blue and pink slips but the RTA/RMS site only lists them as going pink slips. My local garage is listed as doing pink and blue slips but upon contacting them only do pink. Go figure. My understanding is a blue slip is the same as a pink with just a few extra identification checks to be conducted. Seems strange all those you listed don't/cant' do a blue slip. Good luck. JustJames Posted 14April, 2013 Report Share Posted 14April, 2013 To close the loop, and reiterate what I had in a PM to Nick:Autohaus Hamilton do not carry out the blue slip inspection, but what the service that we provide is to go over the car before it goes in for the inspection to ensure that the car is compliant. We then take the car in for the inspection. IrisBlau Posted 15April, 2013 Report Share Posted 15April, 2013 Elios Garage Five Dock. They did my 85 911 when it arrived from the UK. They were recommended by a friend who also imported his 911. When I was there they had two other 911s out front however they are not a Porsche garage. You will be suprised about how laid back they are. "Yeah mate bring it in" sort of place. They wont pull you up on minor oil leaks and stuff which is what I was concerned about. Just across the road from the RTA so you can register the same day.
