D-banger Posted 16April, 2010 Report Share Posted 16April, 2010 If you are in the market for a rare 993 RS Touring or 964 3.6 Turbo then here is your opportunity. There are a host of collectible cars up for grabs this weekend...or you may just want to view them. Doug Auction: Collectors' Motor Cars
Kerry Posted 17April, 2010 Report Share Posted 17April, 2010 Hi Stranger! $180k-$200k for a 964 Turbo?!?!?!?!? I had no idea they attracted almost the same sort of money as a 993RS?! Gawd! Great looking car though... Kerry
D-banger Posted 17April, 2010 Author Report Share Posted 17April, 2010 Hi Kerry, When the 964 Turbo first came out they transplanted the 3.3 engine from the 930. Whereas the 964 Turbo 3.6 had the turbo'd 3.6 NA engine and were delivered in smaller numbers. This car is in great nick, but still over priced IMHO. Plus there is a 15% (+GST) buyer's premium on top of the bidded price (yikes). If you get the chance to have a look, the building is two stories with a car lift installed. Until recently the building was used to house the cars of a private collector. Doug
Kerry Posted 17April, 2010 Report Share Posted 17April, 2010 A-ha... The pics look great, nice car but a major handful I'd bet. What about the 993 RS, other than being yellow (sorry Niko ), how did it look? Kerry

witho Posted 19April, 2010 Report Share Posted 19April, 2010 Thanks Doug Unfortunately I only logged on this morning and missed it. It looks as though a number of the lots were'nt actually at Brighton for viewing. I've always wanted to know what that building was used for, now I know. The facade has always interested me. Roy. D-banger Posted 19April, 2010 Author Report Share Posted 19April, 2010 No problems Roy. The building actually went to auction a couple of months ago. I believe that there is some heritage protection on the facade. A very expensive garage
