Orion03 Posted 18September, 2013 Report Share Posted 18September, 2013 I notice there are 2 different types of steering wheels on the 997, Anyone know why?

I'm pretty sure top photo is a GT3. Give PCM a call.
GC9911 Posted 18September, 2013 Report Share Posted 18September, 2013 the bottom wheel is an early 997 (series I) & the top wheel is 997 (series II).
Orion03 Posted 18September, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 18September, 2013 Man this is turning into some kind of wicked trivia question! They are both from the same year 997, i.e 2005. The closest answer I have found is that one is a Sport Wheel (i.e. yes it's on the GT3) and the other is a multifunction wheel which has stereo controls and maybe answers the phone too. Orion03 Posted 18September, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 18September, 2013 Finally had a look at red book, and the answer is that the top wheel is from the S model and the bottom wheel is the standard.
Hounddub Posted 19September, 2013 Report Share Posted 19September, 2013 Correct. Its an S wheel (for a Tip) with the optional multi-function wheel.
