kov Posted 28October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 28October, 2013 Welcome kov! Half the fun is the research and that means getting out and touching and driving as many 911s as you can. Once you know how important certain things are to you, then the model reference will become very clear. Like air con and future maintenance. Don't let the IMS scare you off with a 996. Do your research, buy smart by getting a PPI and then factor in IMS bearing upgrade into your immediate costs. Eyes wide open The 996 is best bang for buck by far! Thanks for the kind words Amanda I am so much more wiser thanks to this forum in regards to the IMS and potential running costs etc etc. You are right the other half of the equation is to work out exactly what I want in a 911. Certainly the 996 is fantastic value for money! I think I have narrowed it down to either a 993, 996 or 3.2 carrera..... 993 is price wise out of reach I saw a tiptronic 993 targa at a wedding over the weekend, and that shape is just beautiful!
