ASTAR911 Posted 31January, 2014 Report Share Posted 31January, 2014 Anyone had any experience with this power pipe? How would it compare to say a Fabspeed or M&K bypass/premuffler? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?campid=5336391335&toolid=10001&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fitm%2FPorsche-911-Power-Pipe-2-7-3-2-%2F221350767147%3Fpt%3DAU_Car_Parts_Accessories%26hash%3Ditem338988aa2b
Pauly Posted 31January, 2014 Report Share Posted 31January, 2014 eBay exhausts don't phase me at all. No proven gains. just claims. Do you have a goal? sound goal? Power goal? Headers are usually made from 304ss (which is very common general purpoise) but 321ss is recommended as it can handle a lot more heat or 316ss which is better for corrosion ect. Ideally you'd want inconel which is factory on most older porsches (not sure about the new ones) Titanium is another more expensive story!
Harvs11 Posted 1February, 2014 Report Share Posted 1February, 2014 My 3.0 had a straight cat. bypass fitted when I bought it. It's a plain steel unit and has tested the welding skills of my mechanic with its old age rust and thin walls. Get a decent s/s pipe and it will last. I have no comparison for sound or performance but these pipes typically increase HP by about 10. With the factory muffler and bypass my car has a nice rumble on idle and is nice on the road. Pretty quiet though compared to a sport system.
