epilot Posted 10March, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 10March, 2014 found the answer From Taree (54km): turn off the Pacific Highway at Taree then head west to Wingham. Cross over the railway and head north on the Comboyne road. The mountain road is winding and has approximately 19kms of gravel surface. This road is not recommended for caravans and large trailers. You will pass through beautiful forests, see stunning vistas, you may see lyrebirds, pademelons (small wallaby) and other wildlife. wont be going that way ... OZ930 Posted 10March, 2014 Report Share Posted 10March, 2014 Have been told that the Stroud Road is bit rough in spots, but this info is about 8 months old now. So your plan is to then go via Bellingen, Dorrigo to Armidale ?

TINGY Posted 11March, 2014 Report Share Posted 11March, 2014 Sounds like a great drive you have planned Craig. OZ all those roads will probably be a bit rough in spots now, but from the Dungog end onto the Buckets Way is pretty good now into Gloucester.
