Mt Tarrengower Hill Climb

I spent a couple of hours at the Mt Tarrengower Hill Climb on 17 OCT - sweetheart and I have acted as flaggies over the last few years so we get a great view.

The event attracts a whole range of cars and bikes we rarely see. The regulations exclude all/most of the post 1973 (?)stuff. The event operates under the Vintage Sports Car Club and the Bendigo Car Club. The track, rising 182m over 1.6km, is daunting, with steep drop-offs (some with Armco) and very hard earth banks keeps the drivers focussed on the black stuff.

Keep this event in mind for OCT 2011. (PFA run??) The run up the Calder to Castlemaine/Maldon is picturesque, the locals are friendly and the food good.

Here are a few pics Mt Tarrengower

Cheers,

Hi Chris,

Almost right in the township. Wish I had seen it all the event but we were returning from Lake Boga and I called in to grab a few shots for the local paper. An occasional early 911 has a run up the hill - this belongs to Bob Watson - legendary rally great and 1968 London-Sydney competitor.
