Simonk Posted 27April, 2014 Report Share Posted 27April, 2014 Today I was having a new issue with the auto heater between the seats. Every time the thermostat kicked in, it would cut the engine for a split second. No idea where to start on this one. I did have a flat battery on Friday so I disconnected the battery and connected it to the trickle charger. Everything else seems fine now. I checked the battery terminals at our first stop today just to make sure but they seemed ok. Anyone got any ideas?

Simonk Posted 27April, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 27April, 2014 That was the quick solution yesterday Theo. My feet were freezing though. Paul, yes the heater.
SteamWolf Posted 27April, 2014 Report Share Posted 27April, 2014 battery a dud and the extra current draw causes the voltage to drop at the ignition/engine management/CDI etc? Check the alternator is putting out at least 14V and the battery is at at least 11.5V with the engine off and the headlights on.
SteamWolf Posted 9May, 2014 Report Share Posted 9May, 2014 And then?
Simonk Posted 9May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 9May, 2014 And then I took the car for another drive and the heater operated fine and didn't cause any issues. So for now it's gone undiagnosed.
