tazzieman Posted 11May, 2014 Report Share Posted 11May, 2014 Boat! Jacky Ickx boat engine 1985 Porsche Marine Engine Typ 928 (M28-70) Engine: V8 (watercooled) Displacement : 4'957 ccm Power: 750 bph Top Speed depends on the boat used In 1986, race car driver Jackie Ickx ordered a powerful engine for his offshore racing boat. At the request of the six-time Le Mans winner, an eight-cylinder Porsche 928 S4 engine was fitted with two KKK turbochargers. The result was a strapping 748 bhp and 860 Nm torque. To adapt the production engine to the demands of a powerboat, engineers were called on to design a complex dual circuit cooling system with heat exchangers. Porsche engines adapted for marine use is an enticing topic! More here ; check out the one under the Ickx engine : "superb as a twin". I'll bet! The latest Octane features the restoration of Ferrucio Lamborghini's powerboat which sported two Lambo V12 engines That is just about the coolest ever boat! JV911 Posted 27June, 2014 Report Share Posted 27June, 2014 That is just about the coolest ever boat! Riva Aquaramas are the coolest boats to begin with. Adding twin Lambo V12s; well that just launches it into a whole other dimension of coolness. If Top Gear has "sub-zero", then this is absolute zero!
