tazzieman Posted 4June, 2014 Author Report Posted 4June, 2014 Cannot be the factory engine? If it looks like a 4.7... Techie stuff video Who wouldn't like pulsoids?
tazzieman Posted 4June, 2014 Author Report Posted 4June, 2014 Another quickie http://flatsixes.com/cars/porsche-928/fastest-in-the-world-2011/ "some mods"
Pauly Posted 4June, 2014 Report Posted 4June, 2014 Wow! "it's only done 140,000 miles, barley ran in yet" "100% factory 2.7L motor" Not sure how long it'll last him at that hp. I'd love to see his bottom end bearings.
tazzieman Posted 4June, 2014 Author Report Posted 4June, 2014 Not sure how long it'll last him at that hp. I'd love to see his bottom end bearings. 928 has a strong bottom I doubt (he doesn't) he cranks it up to full NOS in one slam , and the car will be geared for top speed. Main problem with 928s is oiling the bearings on big sweepers. But there are fixes for the GT man who cannot avoid the track. One thing for sure , the lad is having a massive dose of fun!
Pauly Posted 5June, 2014 Report Posted 5June, 2014 in the 944 we have oiling problem on #2 bottom end bearing at high rpm usually on track. the other problem he's going to face is those rod... in the 944 turbo the rods are good for 400 rwhp, with the heavy rods, at higher rpms the bearings will deform.
tazzieman Posted 6June, 2014 Author Report Posted 6June, 2014 He seems to have overcome limitations of his 928 so far! I'm sure he's blown a few motors along the way. What would be interesting to know is what it revs up to...and for how long. Plenty of guys race these once the mods have been done. Mostly they have fat wallets. It's 2x a 944 after all when bits go flying.
