Hi,

has anyone had their gearbox oil changed?

I am having trouble sourcing the correct oil which i believe is Mobilube PTX75W-90. Porsche part number is 0004 320 420.

Mobil distributor has recommended Mobilube SHC75W-90 as a substitute.

Can anyone confirm that this an acceptable substitute?

You can check the specs to compare lubricants in the product data sheets on the Mobil oil website: http://www.exxonmobil.com/pdssearch/search.aspx?chooseLanguage=en&CountryValue

Yes it is suitable. It's popular in the UK in the GT3 community, I've run it (and swepco 201 which wasn't as good for my UK driving conditions)  in my LSD transaxle as well.

Here's some extra info - http://www.lufteknic.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=Mobil75-90delvac&Category_Code=lubricants

The Delvac is marketed as Mobil SHC outside the US.
