9er Posted 7June, 2015 Report Share Posted 7June, 2015 I am only really after the plastic backing shroud from one of the 3 spoke wheels which were common on 911 cars in the 70s they were also on some 928 and 944 I believe.I am happy to buy a complete wheel to get what I need Pictures below, thanks. spiller Posted 21August, 2015 Report Share Posted 21August, 2015 would be interested in the wheel itself if you end up finding one mate, my dad is looking for one for his 930.
PhilH Posted 22August, 2015 Report Share Posted 22August, 2015 I have a wheel but no shroud! If you get 2 replies let me know? I was thinking that it may be possible to "print" one using a 3D printer. Anyone know if that is possible?
PhilH Posted 22August, 2015 Report Share Posted 22August, 2015 Just be aware, the 944 wheels do not fit the 911. Different spline diameter. make sure you get the right one!
9er Posted 22August, 2015 Author Report Share Posted 22August, 2015 Yes my intention is just to cannibalise the wheel to get the plastic rear shroud.

PhilH Posted 24August, 2015 Report Share Posted 24August, 2015 9er & Spiller, I just found one of the back covers at aPorschaPart in MEL. It is from a 911 steering wheel. (not exactly give away price though :-) The guy I was dealing with said that there is slight differences between the 911/944/928 wheels and also with the back covers so the back cover off a 944 wheel will probably not fit a wheel from a 911. Not having seen either together I personally do not know, however may be something to be aware of. I have also found a place in the UK who has both 3 and 4 spoke steering wheels for 911's available. If you want the details, just PM me.
