GUT Posted 25June, 2015 Report Share Posted 25June, 2015 Any ideas how to get this hideous thing off?Being so shiny and smooth, I just can't get enough grip.
Peter M Posted 25June, 2015 Report Share Posted 25June, 2015 If it's a push on fit like the standard knob, push down the leather boot so you can get something underneath - a chisel, piece of wood or snug fitting open end spanner - and drive if off with a hammer. When I swapped my shifter for a Wevo classic I couldn't get the original knob off the standard lever with it still in the car and had to remove the lever and fix in a vyce to be able to shift it.Alternatively, if you don't want to reuse the knob, a coupla vertical slits with an angle grinder will make if fall off! vl gra Posted 25June, 2015 Report Share Posted 25June, 2015 Looks like the collar under the knob unwinds, then there will be allen key bolts retaining it to the shaft.
