Help! I can't pull my knob off!

Recommended Posts

If it's a push on fit like the standard knob, push down the leather boot so you can get something underneath - a chisel, piece of wood or snug fitting open end spanner - and drive if off with a hammer.

When I swapped my shifter for a Wevo classic I couldn't get the original knob off the standard lever with it still in the car and had to remove the lever and fix in a vyce to be able to shift it.

Alternatively, if you don't want to reuse the knob, a coupla vertical slits with an angle grinder will make if fall off! :D

Thanks guys.

It's really quite easy once you know how.

Very satisfied now.

Unscrewed the collar, loosened three little screws and off it came.

MUCH better now
