Welcome Peter. It all depends on what you want and your budget. Classic air cooled or a modern Porsche with all the comforts. Read up on the various models. Daily driver or weekender? Take your time and get the car that suits your needs. Plenty of porsche heads on this site that can help. Good Luck and welcome to the forum. Vas. :)

Hi Peter, that short wheel base 911 you have been looking at could be the bargain of the century OR a money pit. At $10,000 it could also be a scam, because a 911 of that type in good condition would be worth at least $50000 and maybe more. If you are interested in it, you MUST get it examined by a Porsche expert. A "stuck" engine from sitting could be diagnosed by an expert as fixable or completely rooted! And the latter is very expensive. The conditions of its storage and where may also be critical for the body structure. Can give you some contacts if you let me know where you are or where the car is situated. "Australia" as a location is a bit too big. And depending on your budget a mid 80's 911, may be a cheaper/more reliable/more affordable choice. Porsche Clubs are a better source of Porsches than the open market, also.

Cheers

Paul M
