Barks Posted 23July, 2015 Report Share Posted 23July, 2015 Just had the beast serviced and given a clean bill of health by the boys at CCMPS. However I was given a heads up that the brakes would probably need to be done next service. Has anyone changed rotors and pads themselves? I've done pads and rotors on a 325 BMW before and pads on many other cars is the Porsche any different? Where is the best place to source parts? OEM or other suppliers? I would welcome any advice. Mike D'Silva Posted 24July, 2015 Report Share Posted 24July, 2015 yep, I have done them myself. Piss easy.If you are careful removing the sensors, you wont need to replace them. But it's easier and cleaner to replace them at the same time. I bought all new rotors and pads from Pelican when the dollar was 1:1 and the freight was cheaper. Genuine Porsche was approximately DOUBLE. At the time I didn't know about Bob Whymms or Autohaus, so I would suggest calling them. You might not need new rotors.. I did it cos I was excited.. should have just had them skimmed for $100.. you'll need to measure them to see if they are within spec.Happy to help over the phone if you want some advice.
