Adrenalin62 Posted 19April, 2016 Report Share Posted 19April, 2016 Hi all interested parties, I'm in the negotiation stages of buying a 76 2.7 targa. It has had a miss, replaced : leads, dissy cap, warm up reg, coil and no joy!! Disconnected tachometer and miss disappears!!! Can anyone help? Cheers steve
Dreamr Posted 19April, 2016 Report Share Posted 19April, 2016 Bad connections in the wiring to the tacho ....Clean and wire brush the connections in the plug and on the back of the tacho and see if that helps ....All of the connections seem to build up a film over time and this can affect the connections between the 2 ....Why is the tacho a culprit for the miss .... no idea, but if it is is in the loop, cleaning everything can only help. Adrenalin62 Posted 19April, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 19April, 2016 Thanks for your input, seemed bizarre, as soon as disconnected wire from dissy it stopped missing! Car has been sitting for quite a while, have changed leads, warm up reg, dissy, coil and then disconnect tachometer-bingo prob fixed? Will try cleaning all connections, cheers sjw
