Pork Chops Posted 11June, 2016 Report Share Posted 11June, 2016 The back of these puppies are a little grimy so keen to give them a really good clean to check for overall condition, and, well, clean them up. Any suggestions about how best to do this and what products to use? I've heard the anodised lips do not like solvent cleaners so just wanted to err on the side of caution. Many thanks. StevepGT3 Posted 11June, 2016 Report Share Posted 11June, 2016 degreaser will eat you weight glue, so if you go that route put some duct tape over the weights first.Mr Sheen and a kitchen scrubbing brush does a pretty good job.
Pork Chops Posted 11June, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 11June, 2016 Unsure what they're supposed to look like back here. Left is clearly cleaned and the right is not. It is however a little misleading as the right is painted black on the inside, not just dirty. Scotch pad and Jif seemed to get off quite a bit of crud but as you can see has only gone so far. Without investing much more effort this is as good as it gets and I'll hand over to the wheel refurbishers from this point on. Cleaned up the mating surfaces and the rear of the spokes so I can see the stamps clearly.
