Car: 2001 BMW 330ci

Service: Leather Clean/Condition & General Interior Clean

Comments:

- Heavy wear and dark jean stains on front seats

- Scuffs, marks and dirt on door cards

- Unfortunately previous cleaners used by a car wash centre have been too harsh and marked leather, but the overall result was a nice one.

- Stains in carpet not addressed - not a service that we provide.

Remember - You will notice wear marks a lot more after your leather is thoroughly cleaned.

TWD, with all due respect.

I dont understand the point of these posts.

Unless you tell us how you do it and with what products, whats the point.

Without this information these posts seem more like advertising.

I dont mean to offend.

Vas, I'm simply just showing off some work.

A magician never reveals his secrets! Similarly, a retailer doesn't reveal to the rest of his clients where he buys his stock from or how much he paid for them.

I'll give you insight into this service:

This interior clean basically uses a 2 step process - a cleaner and conditioner.

I've chosen to use the Lexol cleaner and the Zaino Leather Conditioner here.

I've also used a soft brush to intensify the cleaning stage.

Plus.... its not a PORSCHE! :blink:<_<:rolleyes: (PorscheForumAustralia) :P

Kerry, weather it's a Porsche or not, the process is still the same. And the idea of "detailing" is universal, not just subject to a Porsche.

Got to agree guys. Sounds like advertising to me. As Vas mentioned, it would be much better if you can advise us on the products used at least.

I have followed a number of your posts outlining the work you do and what seem to be quite good results.

There is no doubt that a proffessional detail, whether it be interior restoration or paint correction, can totally transform an older vehicle and even give a new one an appearance "better than factory".

I had the misfortune of buying a new car (brand to remain nameless), which had the pleasure of being attacked during it's pre-delivery by what must have been a 16 year old apprentice butcher with a sand paper buff. The day I picked up the car it was overcast and the metalic black duco looked great. The next morning was a different story. The sun was shining and the duco was a disgrace. The dealer had three attempts to correct the paint, using a panel shop and external contractors. The results were less than satisfactory.

So here I am in a stalemate with the dealer. He says it's acceptable and I've got my lawyer sending him letters! In frustration I finally decide that if I want this fixed I need to sort this myself.

Countless phone calls later I'm introduced to Damian from Final Inspection here in Melbourne. Being in the industry I'm sure you know of him as he is without doubt one of the nation's finest "Magicians". He worked on my car for 5-6 hours whilst I stood and watched in amazement. He explained the process and the different polishes and pads he used, and why he used them at various stages of the paint correction. The result was nothing short of incredible.

So here I am with all these "Magical" secrets in my lap. What to do?

Absolutely nothing, because I don't have the years of skill required to acheive these sort of results!

Now here you are posting wonderfull examples of your work on PFA which is full of enthusiasts who appreciate the sort of results you acheive, but would generally lack the skills and equiptment required. Speaking for myself, I would really enjoy a thread on a 3 stage paint correction or interior detail with a running description of the process. Not because I would attempt this myself, but more so the interest I would have as an enthusiast.

The responses of the previous members are quite just and valid. Forums like this are about enthusiasm, support and sharing.

You don't need to own a Porsche to be part of PFA. I certainly don't yet!

But I think you need to contribute a little more than photos of detailed BMWs to avoid being seen as someone simply trying to promote their business.

Why not share a little more and possibly get a great thread going!

Wow Theo! That is just a can of pure awesome right there!

Totally agree...hardly like I am going to open up in competition with this guy, and so much info is out there its not like he is the only operator on the planet doing what he does in his own particular way. However, I might want to try his equipment, products and techniques for myself on my own vehicle and if I like the results enough, may even call him to do it right and do it better. Its not like he is losing out by revealing his secrets...just very narrow thinking and doesn't quite understand what an 'on side' forum can do for him...

Would like to contact Damian from Final Inspection to run over my own car. Had my door scratch removed by Garry at RJP "Official' PCM body repair centre and am less than satified to put it politely...
