990SD Posted 18August, 2016 Report Share Posted 18August, 2016 Hi everyone.I've just had the "Service Now" indicator light come on in my 06 Cayman S. It has 33,000km on the clock and was serviced regularly by the previous 2 owners. I've had the vehicle since November last year and it's such a pleasure to drive.Within reason, my aim is to maintain the car myself. I've replaced the engine oil and filter and the serpentine belt a few months back as they were due. Time elapsed as opposed to km covered. Can anyone tell me what triggers the "Service Now" warning? Is it a km or time based indicator? CheersDaniel
Apogee Posted 18August, 2016 Report Share Posted 18August, 2016 It is time based. Or could be both depending on which comes first. But mine was trigged even though I hadn't done the kms.
990SD Posted 18August, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 18August, 2016 Thanks Apogee. Do you happen to know if the warning can be reset by anyone other than a Porsche dealer/mechanic?Cheers

990SD Posted 20August, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 20August, 2016 Do you find it easy to use Mike. I'm going to have resurrect an old pc laptop to run the software. On another note, I'm due to flush the brake fluid as it's 2 years old. What brake fluids do people recommend? The car isn't driven on the track.cheersDaniel
