Cayman 987 "Service Now" light

Hi everyone.

I've just had the "Service Now" indicator light come on in my 06 Cayman S. It has 33,000km on the clock and was serviced regularly by the previous 2 owners. I've had the vehicle since November last year and it's such a pleasure to drive.

Within reason, my aim is to maintain the car myself.
I've replaced the engine oil and filter and the serpentine belt a few months back as they were due. Time elapsed as opposed to km covered.

Can anyone tell me what triggers the "Service Now" warning? Is it a km or time based indicator?

Cheers
Daniel

Do you find it easy to use Mike.  I'm going to have resurrect an old pc laptop to run the software.

On another note, I'm due to flush the brake fluid as it's 2 years old.  What brake fluids do people recommend?  The car isn't driven on the track.

cheers
Daniel
