The figures Bruce stated above equate to 755-866 kg if you were to think of it as a dead weight applied.  Divide that by the number of spring fingers, and you get a somewhat accurate indication of how much pressure each finger applies. But then there's also the cumulative effect of all the fingers together. You'll need a mighty big spring balance to check it.   

KP = kilopond = 1 kg = 9.81 newtons.
