To keep the noise DB down you could put a pair of supertrap on the ends ............Supertraps allow you to fit baffle plates in them to adjust volume ....very popular with Rotary owners BITD ..

Ideally there would be a muffler and varex-style valve, like most modern sports cars do.

Absolutely, maybe there is baffling, etc, inside that system they have made up, but from that view it just looks like some 3" pipes with a couple of small resonators. Knowing Singer there is more than meets the eye :D
