SteamWolf Posted 6December, 2012 Report Share Posted 6December, 2012 Hi, I'm fairly tall (and long in the body) so my SC with sunroof is slowly making me a cripple. Other than replacing the seats with aftermarket, is there a method for lowering the stock seat? Laying the seat back P plater style doesn't help due to the shape of the roof. hugh Posted 6December, 2012 Report Share Posted 6December, 2012 You could try and change the rails or if your ok with fixing your seat delete altogether? (may get you another 20-30mm)
SteamWolf Posted 6December, 2012 Author Report Share Posted 6December, 2012 Hmm, I've had a look and I can't see many options other than deleting the rails as you say, which will cause problems when I let other people drive the car. (also it won't pass rego with a fixed seat base.) Looks like unless someone has other suggestions I'll have to get aftermarket seats and wrap mine up in plastic. wasserkuhl Posted 7December, 2012 Report Share Posted 7December, 2012 The only option is to go to a fixed base. I do recall seeing some aftermarket sliders once that proclaimed to lower the seat. I am quite tall and the sport seats in my C3 are perfect............. Perhaps sport seats could be an option for you rather than aftermarket seats? sydr Posted 7December, 2012 Report Share Posted 7December, 2012 I've Porsche GT3 seats which 'sit' higher than the standard seats. The helpful guys at Porsche specialist panel shop Zag in Kingswood nr the Blue Mountains lowered the seats by using aftermarket brackets and sliders and mounting the seats lower in the brackets. They scored me a useful couple of inches that way. They are very busy and do all the work themselves so if you want something done the best thing to do is go and see them at 68 Cox st.
