High beams won't turn off

i sort of assume it's similar to what i did, mine used to come on going over bumps and round corners

theres contacts in the back, and you just need to bend the high beam contact away from the others

sometimes theres a peice of bakelite that breaks - i followed the thread below from pelican and it fixed mine

Zackerly right, a fairly common fault, mine did it too and this was the fix

Cheers for that!

I bent the contacts back a bit.  The 4th contact was fused together and when it popped free it now just floats around so something deep in the switch is broken.

Now low beams don't work and high beam only works when pulling back on the lever.  Looks like new switch time.

JustJames to the rescue again.

I'll pull the old one apart and find out what broke once the new one is in there.

It was reasonably easy to get to.  Steering wheel off, plastic shroud off, 2 screws that hold it in place and some talented wiggling to get it free from the column.
