Flash Posted 17April, 2013 Report Share Posted 17April, 2013 Hi all sorry if this is not in the correct place to post. Could not find a tech Q&A section. I need help installing a 944 rear wing on a sts 924. Have OEM 3 piece spoiler with nuts and bolts but do not see any holes on boot lid to fit. Am I missing something or do I have to drill into frame. Any help is appreciated.
tazzieman Posted 17April, 2013 Report Share Posted 17April, 2013 I think you will have to drill.
cyberpunky Posted 17April, 2013 Report Share Posted 17April, 2013 The 924 never had the *wing* so you could either drill (if that is possible ?) or replace glass with 944 glass. Might be worth posting question on rennlist or googling 944 spoiler on 924 and see if anyone has been there and done that.
cyberpunky Posted 17April, 2013 Report Share Posted 17April, 2013 searched and got this click here seems it is easier to buy a 944 glass section, although that won't be cheap here unlike stateside were these cars are a dime a dozen
tazzieman Posted 18April, 2013 Report Share Posted 18April, 2013 The 924 never had the *wing* Pedantically , the turbo did
cyberpunky Posted 18April, 2013 Report Share Posted 18April, 2013 or get a 924 turbo hatch
Flash Posted 18April, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 18April, 2013 Thanks guys. I should have found this out first before buying the spoiler. Postage alone was a 100 GBp. Sourcing a hatch in Brisbane is difficult and delivery from elsewhere is expensive. Do I guys think it can be stuck on with maybe epoxy?
cyberpunky Posted 18April, 2013 Report Share Posted 18April, 2013 You would want to test any glue on a small section to be sure it won't eat the rubber but cant see why not otherwise
Pauly Posted 1May, 2013 Report Share Posted 1May, 2013 Just a note, my dads 81 924 came factory with a spoiler, 5 studs disc brakes all around. Non turbo and Non S. It has the smaller spoiler. But now it has a 944 one on it.
