Orion03 Posted 24October, 2013 Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 Stupid question time since I cannot figure it out. I have electric seats and wing mirrors, great. The seats and mirrors are linked to the key, i.e. use the key and all settings get set, great. I can't figure out how to get the key and seat to remember my settings ! Bad ! I put the ignition on, hand brake on, push and hold the memory button, press and hold 1 .... but it doesn't work, every time I use the key to lock and unlock the car the seat and wing mirror changes What am I doing wrong? Push memory button and number 2 works to program my settings to 2... but not the key.
nath Posted 24October, 2013 Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 Have you tried the other key? Maybe it's coded to key 1.... Not sure I just followed the manual and it worked for me.
Airhead Posted 24October, 2013 Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 Get the 10 year from down the road to do it.
GC9911 Posted 24October, 2013 Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 You will need these things: The manual Identify the keys from the screen Lots of patience The manual & as Airhead says the 10 year old from down the road OR start the car, get all your settings (seat, mirrors, sterring wheel) correct hold the "Set" button in, then press or hold in the door button with the key symbol on it until you hear a beep then it should be set OR go to the nearest Porsche Centre & they will do it for you in about 20 seconds keep pressing all the buttons until you get it right Good luck, by the way mine works. Orion03 Posted 24October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 I can get it to work for button 2 and button 3, but not the key ! I am going to try erasing all the memory and do it again, maybe that'll work. I never had this problem in the Elise !!! of course I didn't have any electrical stuff in the Elise... no carpet either.....
Pauly Posted 24October, 2013 Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 So if you put the other key in, does the memory change on the seat buttons? or just number 1?
Orion03 Posted 24October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 24October, 2013 Don't know, the other key is in the safe. But I got it to work, erased the memory and do it again worked
Orion03 Posted 27October, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 27October, 2013 I worked out the problem ! When the kind dealer changed the batteries in the remote key he must have swapped the PCB on the insides cause when I use remote key 2 the car says Key 1 and then when I insert the key it says Key 2 i.e. the transmitter for Key 1 is in Key 2 No wonder the car was confused, i.e. I unlock the car, it thinks I am using Key 1, and sets the seat and mirrors, then I put in key 2 into the ignition.
