wasserkuhl Posted 28October, 2013 Report Share Posted 28October, 2013 Wow, that looks like an early development chassis for a McLaren F1, with the central seating position.
Airhead Posted 28October, 2013 Report Share Posted 28October, 2013 A little bit of toe out helps it brake straight. Doesn't it?
Mike Posted 8November, 2013 Report Share Posted 8November, 2013 It will also help with turn in. It will however reduce straight line stability. It can also help balance up inner edge tyre wear when using an increased amount of negative camber.
Russ Posted 8November, 2013 Report Share Posted 8November, 2013 on this issue, I've got a weltmeister bump steer kit - is it worth putting in? does anyone else have one?
Mike Posted 8November, 2013 Report Share Posted 8November, 2013 How low is your car? That has a large bearing on whether or not they are worth while! I would prefer to have each end of the spacer supported, as you can otherwise have some flex in the assembly. The leverage on the steering arm is greatly increased, by using this method. This can cause more problems than it fixes. There are other ways to correct bump steer too much to go into here though!
Russ Posted 8November, 2013 Report Share Posted 8November, 2013 thanks for the info, good to see it's not just me that presses that damn x2 button! lol it's not super low, but I think it's a little lower than standard - I think I'll not bother and put them on the shelf
