Well we know the Porsche did it.. with 3 different cars and 3 different drivers with all pretty much the same time. McLaren claim they broke the 7min mark. But did they beat the 918s time? they won't tell us. I doubt it. The 918 weighs 300kgs more, has 120hp less power from the petrol engine, but 100 hp more from the electric. combined the 918 is down 20hp from the P1 So you'd think the P1 should chop the 918 around the ring? It's no secret that I'm in love with the 918 though, very cool to see cars like this (in terms of a design exercise) being conceived, built and go into production. The potential is very exciting!
