Quozl Posted 30March, 2014 Report Share Posted 30March, 2014 and never reset them if the car is moving, only when fully stopped or the gears strip, or so I've been told. Cheers Al
Hounddub Posted 30March, 2014 Report Share Posted 30March, 2014 I just going to ask the question, why would you need to "reset" your odo?
Peter M Posted 30March, 2014 Report Share Posted 30March, 2014 Hughesy,I recommend www.repairsonly.com.au for the parts. The two gears will cost $50 and they are reasonably easy to replace if you follow the YouTube video that features a 993 speedo repair which is the same. The owner, Mr Smithers and his mother reminded me of that old ABC series Mother and Son but they still managed to get the gears to me in a couple days. Just need to remove the old gears first to make sure you order the right tooth number and size. They can do the repair for you too if you wish. They're in Sydney BTW

Russ Posted 31March, 2014 Report Share Posted 31March, 2014 and never reset them if the car is moving, only when fully stopped or the gears strip, or so I've been told. Cheers Al yeah the gears strip teeth 'cause they're moving as you engage the reset (and snap some teeth off or the gear) happens on a lot of older German cars (my old mercs had the same issue if you pressed it while driving)
