firstone Posted 3September, 2015 Report Share Posted 3September, 2015 A few blunders and questionable reasoning that I wouldn't expect from Autohaus:......IMS stands for ‘Intermediate Shaft Bearing’.............due to high load and lack of lubrication to the IMS bearing, eventuating in the continuos over heating. This eventually will cook the metals in the bearing and cause large amounts of friction...... I wonder why they don't recommend the IMS Solution over the Retrofit? So do I

I wonder why they don't recommend the IMS Solution over the Retrofit?Well its only a solution for the single row bearings for starters. That might be why? it's also a lot more expensive to install. I'm sure if james pops his head in here, he might elaborate.
Peter M Posted 3September, 2015 Report Share Posted 3September, 2015 Well its only a solution for the single row bearings for starters. That covers cars from 2000 to 2005 from memory? Though you might be right Amanda that it's mainly price driven.
