Stew F Posted 10October, 2015 Report Share Posted 10October, 2015 I was a bit bored this afternoon. I did a little bit of paid work, then I started a couple of new private design projects. These are only concept models at the moment. The next step is to check everything and detail them dimensionally. Roller rockers for aircooled 6 engines.In conjunction with one of my clients, who has a sideline business where he builds some serious horsepower engines, I've started to develop this roller rocker arm. The rocker arms are (will be) Grade 5 αβ Titanium stress relieved and then heat treated to a yield strength of around 880 MPa. There is an open bearing running on the cam lobe. I'm waiting on a couple of stock arms so I can measure and confirm the centres and ratios. http://vid1272.photobucket.com/albums/y383/fuchsfamilyphotos/Camshaft_zpsfiskeupc.mp4 Monoball front suspension mounts. The monoball housing and nut are anodised 6061 T6 pre heat treated aluminium. Inner spacers are 304 stainless steel. It has a sealed for life "No Maintenance" spherical bearing and 2 secondary seals to keep the junk out. Then, out of the blue, we start working for a new client that's in the carbon fibre business. I'm talking CF steering wheels. The idea is to replicate a few of the classic steering wheels with either black leather with a PU inner, or mahogany rim, depending on the style of wheel. For example, Prototipo would have leather, whereas the ND Classic would have the timber with a carbon insert.
