Merv Posted 27February, 2016 Report Share Posted 27February, 2016 Stay with the 6V. It is part of the car's heritage. Get a 6V spare as suggested.
ByronBayChris Posted 27February, 2016 Author Report Share Posted 27February, 2016 Yes, thanks all. Will stay with 6v and will get a spare 6v battery. Good to know that I can jump start the car with 12v if ever needed. I'll respond if I ever have to do it.
firstone Posted 27February, 2016 Report Share Posted 27February, 2016 If you supply more than the regulator can handle it (may) fry it. If that happens, the car will run until it either over charges the battery killing it, or you'll be running on charge from the battery until it has no charge and stop again. Or it may not do any damage. I wouldn't. Great news on the purchase by the way BBC. ?On my list of wants.
