Buchanan Automotive Posted 21May, 2016 Report Share Posted 21May, 2016 Today , Eastern Creek ( Sydney Motor-sport Park ) Round 1 of the 2016 PCNSW MotorKhana Championship , big turnout of Porsche's , mainly late model Cayman's , 997's , 991's, GT3's, Boxters , and some last century 944's & 911's ( full field of 40 cars ) , every one had a great time & naturally there will always be that competitive bit no matter who is driving & we all want to do well , that's the extra fun bitSean Buchanan in his 1986 3.0L 16V 951 took an early lead in the first few Motorkhana sessions & quite a few of the very fast ( pointy end of the field ) guy's started to catch up buy early afternoon , but Sean did a blinder session in the last to lead by quite a bit Naturally in Motorkhana , its not about speed as such , if you go the wrong way ( around a witches hat ) or hit a witches hat , you loose points ( lots ) , so the trick is to drive quick & smooth & have a very very good memory & do not make any mistakes , very difficult discipline to master & I can not think of a harder Porsche to do it in ( 951 with no ABS ) , where as a late model Porsche with all the electronic driver aids is quite an advantage ( point and shoot ) So a good win for an out dated last century ( 30 year old ) 951 that doest even have ABS , let alone the mass of drivers aids the late model Porsch'es haveWell done to all who competedRegardsBruce BuchananBuchanan Automotive
