H4 sealed beam to LED or Projector conversion

I have to change a sealed beam headlight on my 924 Turbo and am leaning towards upgrading both headlights to a Projector or LED Headlight setup.

Just wondering if anyone else here changed from a H4 sealed beam to a projector or LED headlight setup.  Does anyone have feedback on what to go for or what to avoid?

I am planning on doing a projector conversion to mine using basic globe replacements.

That will look fantastic on the hot rod build.

I like way projectors look and the clean consistent light they give off compared to halogen lights.  But i'm leaning toward the Truck Lite style LED lamps I saw on this thread: Rennlist - LED headlight upgrade completed

Mmmm. That looks interesting. I am still planning on keeping the fluted lenses for the factory look. I just thought of putting in some sort of better lighting solution. That could be a better way to go. I will have to do some more research.

Funnily enough, while I have been looking around for H4 replacements I found these for a 911:  http://closedcoursemotorsport.com/ccm-bi-xenon-hid-headlights/

I reckon with a clear lens they look fantastic.  However I can think of a good few things that I would spend US$ 964 on before I spent that much on headlamps.

That is something like what I was looking at, but you don't have to buy the complete units from them. You just need to get something like this as a bulb replacement and keep your current glass and reflector etc.

Now you have mentioned the LED's, I am thinking something more along the lines of this.

I wound up getting something a bit left field.  I figure they're hidden until they're turned on, so the shape of the light thrown out was a high priority.

Although i'll admit saving a few bucks was a priority too: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/282070786778

They're at a price that it's not a big loss if they're rubbish.

From the looks of their pictures you are going to blind any oncoming traffic!!

The ebay title says it all "offroad lamp"......

Virtually every modification money can buy is marked for offroad use only.  The reference to offroad for these however is because they are being marketed for Jeeps.  I searched the interwebs pretty thouroughly and this type seems to have the best cutoff on the low beam. They're a copy of a Harley Davidson light upgrade.

These are far from the brightest you can buy.  I thought it would be interesting to see how they go rather than going down the tried and tested route of halogen globes.

I'm no stranger to adjusting headlights so oncoming traffic need not worry their pretty little heads. Plus I'm rather low slung so it won't be anything like the same headlights on a lifted Jeep.

I'm hoping for lighting similar to the xenons on my Beemer which is why I've gone down the projector path.

If worst comes to worst they're rubbish and I buy something else.

I'll be interested to see how they go for you.
