teknostar Posted 2September, 2012 Report Share Posted 2September, 2012 Changing out my interior bulbs for LEDs today, and noticed a switch (rocker switch with a l & 0 )in the passenger footwell next to centre console. Have never seen that before, and have no idea what it is for. Anyone have any ideas?

T-Man Posted 2September, 2012 Report Share Posted 2September, 2012 Just a guess - high Beam? Had an old car once with that there. Diosh. Please tell me you are kidding. Man this is a997! Seriously though.......Ejector Seat!!!
Doish13 Posted 2September, 2012 Report Share Posted 2September, 2012 You don't want to know what car I was relating to........, first thing that came to mind. In reality it's more likely to be a ejector seat than high beam.
Guest Nick987 Posted 2September, 2012 Report Share Posted 2September, 2012 Post a pic of the switch? I'd love to see what it looks like and check if I have one... Aaahhh Theo lovin those 'special' smileys already I see!!
PCM911T Posted 3September, 2012 Report Share Posted 3September, 2012 Perhaps you should consult the Owner's Manual. My wife an ex Bond Girl ??? says it is probably a switch to activate"global searching when the bad guys kidnap you" or a light for the footwell. Or you could call the spare parts guys at PCM. Guest Nick987 Posted 3September, 2012 Report Share Posted 3September, 2012 Thinking more about it may have been installed by a previous owner to switch on/off gps tracking for theft as this is always running and drains the. Battery or may e for a car phone kit?
T-Man Posted 3September, 2012 Report Share Posted 3September, 2012 Some older models, I think 964, had a switch in the footwell that allowed you to switch off and disable the ultrasonic part of the alarm, allowing you to keep pets in the car.................or kids when you want to go to the pokies!! T-Man Posted 12September, 2012 Report Share Posted 12September, 2012 You would think they would put it in a more sensible place Trev than the passenger footwell?

TrevMcRev Posted 12September, 2012 Report Share Posted 12September, 2012 You would think they would put it in a more sensible place Trev than the passenger footwell? Yeah it's a low profile switch too, not like you can operate it with your foot or anything....weird! I think it's really just to test operation of it or something...while stationary. TrevMcRev Posted 12September, 2012 Report Share Posted 12September, 2012 Releases the oil and smoke? Flips the number plates? Owned by an ex spy? I do wish I could flip the number plates! T-Man Posted 12September, 2012 Report Share Posted 12September, 2012 I know the 996 had the footwell switch but I thought the 997 went back to the console?

TrevMcRev Posted 12September, 2012 Report Share Posted 12September, 2012 Actually, not sure if we're talking about the same button??? In the 996 it's on the outer side of the footwell, not the console side. Press it and see what happens!
