Seventy911 Posted 6March, 2020 Report Share Posted 6March, 2020 Hi everyone! im hoping someone can help me with a code for correct IP black paint please? thanks Pete
9er Posted 7March, 2020 Report Share Posted 7March, 2020 People seem to like Wurth satin black trim paint, but to be honest any quality satin black will stand up to scrutiny. VHT satin black epoxy is my favourite and is readily available, good for use on Fuchs wheels as well. pocketscience
Seventy911 Posted 10March, 2020 Author Report Share Posted 10March, 2020 Hey 9er, I was thinking Wurth too but great to hear the VHT goes well on Fuchs as I want to paint out the ports on mine. Any special prep advice for adhesion on the wheels? thanks!
9er Posted 11March, 2020 Report Share Posted 11March, 2020 The epoxy has great adhesion properties, no need for etch prime, light scuff with a fine 3M pad and a good solvent wipe down , you should be good to go. Seventy911
Merv Posted 19March, 2020 Report Share Posted 19March, 2020 The regional Wurth agent lives in the next street from me and I get their products dropped off very cheaply. They are great and the quality of the paint is assured. In terms of a job using a rattle can, however, it is the quality of their spray nozzle that stands out from others (Eastwood are also very good). A fine mist that does not produce spatter at any stage. Most cans don't have the same quality nozzles. For satin black surfaces that need a harder finish , I used the VHT "Caliper Paint" as it resists chipping really well.
