Sov Posted 17August, 2022 Report Share Posted 17August, 2022 A friend of mine has recently bought a 997 S and although it has what looks to be a factory sports exhaust he wants it to be LOUDER. Is the "Gundo hack" an option on this car? And if so, does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in Gold Coast - Brisbane who can carry out the work? If it's not an option, is there a cheap option that will have the desired outcome?

If it's not an option, is there a cheap option that will have the desired outcome? As far as I know, the gundo is an after market mod, not a factory fit. I have a Gundo/ Fister on my 997.1C2S. Noticeably louder than OEM sports exhaust. Love the sound and when on full noise up shifts it’s epic. Cost me $300 at a generic exhaust specialist. I removed them and refitted myself. Also, bridging pipe I used is 1and 3/4 inch stainless. TwoHeadsTas and Sov
wilburforce Posted 18August, 2022 Report Share Posted 18August, 2022 I had a gundo hack on my 997c2s. Sounded OK at full noise but a bit 'farty' around town. I replaced with a cargraphic muffler set and it gave it a proper note - beautiful system, would recommend. Falcon and Sov
Sov Posted 22August, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 22August, 2022 Update - Local shop is going to charge him $800 drive-in-drive-out. In his mind it's significantly cheaper than $6k for an aftermarket exhaust and he's not the type to spin spanners. Thanks for the help everyone! That was my thoughts too, if I didn’t like the Gundo sound, not too much cash lost. The prices of some systems is criminal. Hope it works out 🫰 Shedpest and Sov 1
Taffy Posted 23August, 2022 Report Share Posted 23August, 2022 Does your friend have a .1 or .2? The .2 has a 3rd muffler which can be deleted with an x pipe. design911 and topgear exhausts have well priced options out of the UK to get a little louder or add in switchable.
