Nighthawk Posted 25November, 2022 Report Share Posted 25November, 2022 Hi all, I thought it was all sorted, but cold air only lasted 2 days. I’m after a rear deck lid condenser for a 1986 930 turbo. Thanks for looking.
vl gra Posted 26November, 2022 Report Share Posted 26November, 2022 Can you not get a new a/m through a radiator shop?
Nighthawk Posted 26November, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 26November, 2022 Unfortunately they are not that easy to pick up. UK seem to have replacement condensers, but at around $1200, & not easily returned, I was hoping to locate one in Aus.
OZ930 Posted 27November, 2022 Report Share Posted 27November, 2022 Are you specifically after one from a 1986 ? I think they are all the same from ‘78 to ‘89.
T-Man Posted 27November, 2022 Report Share Posted 27November, 2022 Have you tried Griffiths in the US. Picked one up for the 993.few years ago. Good range and advice.
OZ930 Posted 28November, 2022 Report Share Posted 28November, 2022 I have a few bits left over from my AC update of my 1981. Whole system was in a box when I bought the car. I bought and installed an updated kit with modern condensers. The new rear condenser was wider than the factory version which allowed me to remove the blanking plate increasing air flow to the condenser and engine bay. The old condenser is back in the box. Nighthawk Posted 30November, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 30November, 2022 Thanks for the replies, a company in France called Rose passion has replacement condensers. I’m trying to keep it looking stock, Griffiths aftermarket condenser, although good, doesn’t look the same. OZ930, I’ve attached a photo of the Rose Passion condenser, if it’s not too much trouble could you compare your unit with the photo?

Nighthawk Posted 7December, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 7December, 2022 Thanks for the effort & the photos. I’m happy to take a punt on it working, please let me know the price. I’m in Sydney, not sure of your location for pick up or delivery. Thanks Glen
Nighthawk Posted 20December, 2022 Author Report Share Posted 20December, 2022 Just want to say thanks to the forum, & one gentleman in particular, for selling me a part to get my air conditioning in the 930 back up & running for the Christmas holidays. This person actually offered to refund the money paid, as he wasn’t happy with the condition of the item sold. It’s heart warming to know that there are people on this forum, whom are not out for a cash grab, but here to lend a hand to fellow enthusiasts when in need, to keep these pieces of history on the road for everyone to enjoy. I’m sure this was the aim of the forum at its inception. Merry Christmas P-Kay, Diamond911, SteveF and 2 others 4
