nine11 Posted 21February, 2023 Report Share Posted 21February, 2023 Con someone please explain how the newer, larger capacity F6 in the current Cayman GTS has slightly less power/torque (294kW/430Nm) than the last pre-turbo 991 Carrera GTS (which had 316kW/440Nm). Is it tuning, engine design, software, magic, higher RPM for the peak (i.e. 7000 for the 718 v's 7500 for the 911), or some combination of these? Thanks:)
Redracn Posted 21February, 2023 Report Share Posted 21February, 2023 Probably a combination of all the above but I suspect that the longer exhaust excuse they used for the GT4RS combined with the petrol particulate filter will be some of the reason. WGA Posted 21February, 2023 Report Share Posted 21February, 2023 Tuning. Same 4.0l engine outputs 309kw in the GT4. With headers and exhaust it can be tuned to output more than the 316kw of the 991 Carerra GTS.
