Another aircooled rebuild 3.2 "short stroke"

Generally, yes.

 

The general consensus is that high rpm is limited by rod bolts, rod weights and strength, piston weight, etc... The 'short stroke' name is used on 3.0 engines when the bore is increased but the stroke remains the same. 

Generally speaking, increasing bore increases power at higher rpm.

And increasing stroke tends to result in torque increases lower down.

So in reality it's more of a big bore engine than a short stroke.  :)
