Skidmarks Posted 2January Report Share Posted 2January Hi all. I’ve been enjoying taking the 74 Carrera out for a few runs but have encountered an issue which has become steadily worse and today, she konked out! I’ve noticed a part throttle hesitation at around 3000 rpm. Generally OK, has a bit of a cough and then picks up and runs strongly on the throttle right to the cut. Gets worst on occasion when driving up an extended incline greater than say a 10-15% incline. Today it’s just died. As soon as I got it to flat ground, it coughed after a long crank and then fired up. Have a 3/4 full tank. No issues anywhere else in the rev range and otherwise pulls strongly. Thoughts? reedminor Posted 2January Report Share Posted 2January Coil starting to fail? spark plug leads? cdi starting to play up? fuel filter blocking? How old is fuel tank? guessing really but my swb started to do this and soon after I needed to replace the coil. While in there I did the cdi and ignition leads. epilot and tomo
Yeatesy Posted 2January Report Share Posted 2January I had a similar issue with my 911S, I replaced a heap of parts but in the end it disappeared after using fuel injection cleaner + intake/upper cylinder cleaner.
