09ELF Posted 17August, 2013 Report Share Posted 17August, 2013 Hi guys I am currently interested in the vehicle in WA (I'm from NSW), but as its been advertised for awhile I am wondering if anyone has seen the car or knows if its condition. I believe there is some surface based rust, but as I am unable to inspect it in person it makes it quiet difficult. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Porsche-911-1975/SSE-AD-955061/?Cr=8&sdmvc=1 Cheers, Dan
wasserkuhl Posted 17August, 2013 Report Share Posted 17August, 2013 Greetings, That car has been for sale for a fair old time. I know an excellent Porsche specialist in Perth who you could ring to quiz about the car as he may know it. Or if you are serious you could have him look over it for you and he'd give you a very honest summary of the car and anything that may be of concern. PM me if you want his details. clutch-monkey Posted 17August, 2013 Report Share Posted 17August, 2013 considerable rust in the doors mate, and a few little things that put me off when a mate was asking about the same car. chuck it through a PPI and see what you think, could be worthwhile for you (wasn't for my mate)

09ELF Posted 19August, 2013 Author Report Share Posted 19August, 2013 No I haven’t and am still in discussion with my engineer. Based on my crash course in interstate LHD purchase, this car will require significant investment for it to be registrable NSW. ie. Full engineer cert for the LHD, engine etc etc Abridge brake test due to 20% increase in engine power and upgraded brakes ; This involves hiring out a runway for a day and ~$2500-$3000 Repair the necessary rust. Possible side intrusion bars need to installed Air filter boxed Possible lap/sash setup up revisions + usual blue slip and rego
clutch-monkey Posted 19August, 2013 Report Share Posted 19August, 2013 have things changed recently or has it always been such a run around?
Uncle Posted 20August, 2013 Report Share Posted 20August, 2013 Yeah I've never heard of the run way thing. That's just retarded.
Russ Posted 20August, 2013 Report Share Posted 20August, 2013 you would think they'd do a brake test on a machine, not on a runway...?
