Steve,

You may need to prepare yourself for a rebuild.

The receiver / dryers and coils go after so long on most 993 s and with all the dismantling and reassembly of the dash to access the coil etc. a fairly standard price is 3 k ( unless you are preparing the typical 993 sales add)

Makes a huge improvement though

Cheers

phil hearn auto coupe in eltham

Yes, Autocoupe regassed mine just before summer. If it has a leak it is probably the evaporator.

These things are infamous for dying.

Spoke with Phil about the options and decided to gas it again for next summer as opposed to swapping out the evaporator.

I think Porsche list the labour on an evaporator at 10 hours!

My son has a VW V6 that needs the belts done...................I am petrified to get a price.

If you are thinking about doing the evap I would be very interested in being your apprentice.

I got a couple of quotes for the Audi and the cheapest was $2500 + parts(audi prices were around 1500 inc water pump )

It ended up costing me less than $800 inc special tools
