PeterP Posted 16January, 2014 Report Share Posted 16January, 2014 Just wondered if anybody on the firm has or has had an X5 diesel, as I am looking at buying an 07 model as a daily driver. Any feedback appreciated on whether they were a good thing and reliable . Cheers Peter
edgy Posted 16January, 2014 Report Share Posted 16January, 2014 Had an 06 so E53.. Was a rock solid car! Would get another in a heartbeat. Can't speak for E70 but you justo on xoutpost.com and look around.. Plenty of info there!
DJM Posted 16January, 2014 Report Share Posted 16January, 2014 Bought a 2nd hand 3.0d E53 in 2007 (identical to edgy's photo above) then upgraded to a new E70 xDrive30d in late 2009. Both great cars. Strong fuel efficient drivetrain. The E70 has done about 110,000kms now. Have had no issues with either car. Highly recommended and way better than any of the Jap 4 cylinder diesels. So smooth, torquey, refined and fuel efficient. Awesome for towing, had planned to update again after 3 years but it's now past 4 and I'm struggling to justify replacing it when I couldn't buy anything better for the 60k or so it's now worth. iDrive system is a bit of a pain but you get used to it (what was ever wrong with a button to change radio from AM to FM?). Recent models have much improved iDrive but it's not worth 50k to me to upgrade! PeterP Posted 17January, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 17January, 2014 Thanks guys, appreciate the feedback. I think one of these will suit me perfectly and as with most German cars I'd maintained properly will go forever. Cheers
Coastr Posted 18January, 2014 Report Share Posted 18January, 2014 What's the value on one of these looking like? For reasonable kays and condition?
