333pg333 Posted 5May, 2014 Report Share Posted 5May, 2014 Good advice in here although I've only skimmed as I'm at work. What I'd say firstly about that wheel choice is with multi spoke designs comes more difficult cleaning. A '5 Star' design is far easier to clean. I've had both types and can speak from experience. Especially if you graduate to a more aggressive brake pad that throws a lot of dust.Another thing to touch on is Oil. You 'may' get people recommending 0w/30 or 5w/40 synthetic oils because that's what go in modern Porsches but it's wrong for our cars...especially in QLD. You want to use a good 20w/50 mineral based oil with plenty of ZDDP in it. VR1 is a good choice.Enjoy your new car. They're a great vehicle and very much underappreciated. Pauly Posted 5May, 2014 Report Share Posted 5May, 2014 Patrick is correct, Most places will give you 0w 30 ect. I've seen this my self. 20w 50 is what you want. I personally use penrite oil, but i have synthetic with added ZDDP. use to be semi synthetic but they changed it. Make sure you break in with mineral oil first. Foyley Posted 5May, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 5May, 2014 Thanks for the heads up guys! My lift for 12 years was oils so im well aware of making the right choices when it comes to older engines like these!
