Caledonian Posted 3February, 2014 Report Share Posted 3February, 2014 If you have any service records that mention what brand was used, I would stick with that. I do recall from researching this subject for my 915, that the G50 uses fully synthetic oil. If you want to change the oil this Sunday I know a top bloke with a hoist
Russ Posted 3February, 2014 Report Share Posted 3February, 2014 do you have an LSD? Everything I've read says they should run full synthetic oil Swepco 201/210/212 is talked about a bit over on Pelican - might be worth a go?

twood Posted 3February, 2014 Report Share Posted 3February, 2014 Does anyone have something like this for Sunday?-Tom Thumb Utility Pump 1 litre http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Tom-Thumb-Pump-Utility-1-Litre.aspx?pid=284708#Cross It will make our life much easier-they are $29.99 from SuperCheap and that's only around 250m away. Could save a whole lot of wasted oil.

CarreraG50 Posted 5February, 2014 Author Report Share Posted 5February, 2014 So after much online research, full syn 75W-90 seem to be the go, however as most sites are US based hard to find the oil they reccommend locally. So I think I might try this http://www.penriteoil.com.au/products.php?id_categ=4&id_products=376 however I dont have an LSD, so hope its OK. MMMMMMM Maybe stick with the Castrol Syntrax 75W-90. Maybe I'm over thinking this
G5032 Posted 5February, 2014 Report Share Posted 5February, 2014 Another option is to visit a reputable independent Porsche workshop that specilalises in the old stuff with a suitable container and purchase as much as you need of what there using? I'm sure many of then will accommodate this..
